Founded in 1997, Dalhart Christian Academy has a long history of providing an excellent, Christian education to our students.

An Initial Prayer

The dream began initially during a prayer meeting with seven families who sought a Christian education for our community’s students – and continued through faithful prayer to glean God’s guidance. After several weeks, God placed this verse on each heart, affirming the vision for the school: Isaiah: 18-19, “Remember not the former things, nor consider things of old. 19: Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

From that moment, the founding team researched curriculum, met the state requirements, and labored to get the school started in the Fall of 1997.  Throughout the process, First Baptist Church graciously offered to allow the school to meet in their building.

A Thriving School Community

Since 1997 and the work of those founding families, so many have poured their time, talent, and resources into creating the DCA community we know today. Each teacher, family, volunteer, and community member that has contributed to DCA has greatly impacted the spiritual, academic, and personal success that has enabled our students to reach great heights.

The school has grown over those years to include a pre-school and Jr. High, as well as the electives and programs that allow those parts of our school to flourish. Our leadership continues to put its faith in God as we passionately pursue the path He has for our school.
