Social Media Policy

Discretion on social media is required for each member of the DCA family to walk in wisdom and grace as we respond to various expressions of conviction within the Christian community. All aspects of our lives serve as a testimony to the world and at the same time should build up the school. As physical image bearers of the Triune God, we aspire to be known for excellence in Christlikeness and the exercise of wisdom in all areas of life including our sexuality, diet (whether food or drink), character, finances, ministry, relationships, work ethic, and doctrine. Social media should portray a life dedicated to God as evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23.

Engagement in online blogs or social media, such as, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. may result in disciplinary actions if the content of the staff, student or parent’s post/text includes defamatory comments regarding the school, the faculty, or other students or express attitudes not consistent with the values and mission of the school. Faculty may not be “friends” with students on social media.
