Phone Use

Telephone Use

Students are not allowed to use the office telephone except in emergencies. Parents are discouraged from calling their children except for emergencies.

In such cases, a messenger will take the message to the student or call him/her to the phone. Incidental messages may be left in the office to be delivered to the child at the end of the school day. Likewise, teachers will not be called to the phone except for emergencies. Messages will be relayed and the call returned at a break or other convenient time.

Cell Phones and Other Smart Devices

Cell phones and other smart devices are not to be used without permission while on campus. This includes using the phone to listen to music. Texting is not allowed on any device.

Cell phones and other smart devices should not be visible or heard and thus should be turned off during the school day and remain secured in the student’s backpack or locker. If a cell phone or other smart device is visible and/or heard, it will be confiscated and turned in to the office. The administrator will contact the parent/guardian to pick it up at the end of the day.

If a student needs to be contacted during the school day, parents are encouraged to contact the school office which will relay the message to the student.

Cell phones or other smart devices must never be used in the restrooms!
